[Class 35] [Also in Groups XXXVII and XXXVIII] The driving pawl 45 of a selector is pivoted on a stud 42 carried by a disc 26, Figs. 4 and 5, which forms part of the plunger assembly of a solenoid. The plate 26 and the cover 29 of the solenoid are provided with sloping recesses 33 ... 35 and 30 ... 32 which form housing for balls 36. When the solenoid is energized, therefore, slight axial movement of the plunger produces a considerable rotation to give the driving pawl its working stroke. When the solenoid is deenergized, the normal position of the disc is restored by a spring 37 which is connected between the stud 42 and a pin on the sleeve 48 through which the selector shaft 47 passes.
