Abstract

655,803. High-frequency transmission lines. COSSOR, Ltd., A. C., and OXENHAM, J. K. Aug. 30, 1948, No. 22867. [Class 40 (viii)] A transmission line for radio frequency oscillations comprises two thin, elongated, conducting members having their adjacent major surfaces fixed to and held in spaced relation by a strip of insulating material. As shown in Fig. 2, the insulating material may be wider than the conducting strips and is upset round their edges to grip them in position. An impedance transformer section of such line may connect two lines of differing width, as shown in Fig. 3. Sections of different widths may be connected by exponentially tapering sections to avoid reflections.
