Abstract
655,545. Steam cookers. KEMP, J. W. Dec. 23, 1946, No. 37783. [Class 28(i)] A steam cooker for foodstuffs comprises a cylindrical jacket 6, which is open at the bottom and adapted to rest on a gas ring, oil stove, &c. and is provided with a partition, for example an extension of a food outlet shoot 26, and, below the partition, a steam boiler 5 having a steam outlet pipe 33 projecting through said partition. The boiler is also fitted with a pressure relief valve 34 or, alternatively, a relief pipe extending above the upper end of the jacket,. and vents 7 for hot gases are provided in the jacket adjacent to or above the boiler. The upper end 27 of the jacket is enlarged to form a filling hopper which may be fitted with a pressure cover, and laterallyslidable perforated food trays 28 are located between said hopper 27 and shoot 26. A small wheeled shaker tray 30 may be associated with the shoot.
