Ovens; baffles.-In a portable cooking-oven of the kind comprising a cover enclosing the articles to be heated and adapted to stand over a gas or oil burner or on the top of a kitchen range or gas stove, a central outlet for the gases is provided at a lower level than the top of the cover. As shown in Fig. 2, the cover is formed with double walls A, B secured together at their lower edges, the top of the inner shell A being downwardly dished and provided with a central aperture C for the exit of the hot gases which escape through outlets D formed near the lower end of the outer cover B. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, lagging G replaces the cover B and the exit for the gases comprises a vertically slidable tube K having a hit-and-miss regulator L at its outer end. The cover may be provided with legs to raise it above the heating-means and allow entry of air.
