Abstract

655,204. Fertilizer distributers. ABBEY, J. June 15, 1948, No. 16079. [Class 6(i)] A distributer for fertilizer and like granular material comprises a hopper 4 having in the base thereof a conveyer belt driven by a power shaft 12 and feeding material through an adjustable end door to a distributer box 26 which is provided with a forced draught from a duct 39 connected to a fan 37 driven by a motor 38 for forcing material through an outlet 29. The box 26 is provided internally with a skirt 28 which diverts the material rearwardly, the air under pressure entering through openings 40. Two skirts 30 divert some of the material to the side units 34 the air entering through openings 31. The duct 39 may lead into a booster chamber into which the exhaust gases from the vehicle engine are led, to boost the air pressure.
