Abstract

654,802. Hand-trucks. SMITH, H. G. Nov. 13, 1948, No. 29522. [Class 108(i)] A wheelbarrow comprises a continuous sole bar 3 to the side of which are welded the forwardly and rearwardly directed extensions 6x, 6y of the U or V shaped legs 6, a body 1 secured to the cross members 2 and a wheel 5 mounted in bearing brackets 4 secured to the sole bar 3. During transit the body 1, wheel 5, brackets 4 and stays 7 are disconnected from the underframe to enable a number of underframes to be stacked with the legs 6 nesting together, the cross members 2 or sole bar 3 then forming a box-like compartment the ends of which may be closed by plates to enable bolts &c. to be packed therein.
