Abstract
387,988. Vehicle bodies. WELGER, GEB., 9, Goslarschestrasse, Wolfenbuttel, Brunswick, Germany. Jan. 11, 1933, No. 994. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1932. [Class 108 (i).] In general utility carts such as farm carts the metal (preferably rustless) floor of the vehicle is provided at its longitudinal margins with integral flanges, ribs, webs, &c. forming stiffening beams to which the axle pins, bearings or springs may be secured rendering an undercarriage unnecessary. In Figs. 1 and 2 the floor comprises several sections a .. e, each having flanges o by which they are secured together as by welding, the outermost flanges g, h carrying the axle bearings k or pins i. The flanges o adjacent the front axle are shortened to accommodate a saddle piece enclosing a socket piece p for the carriage pole shoe r which is pivoted on the pin q and is connected to rods s for the steering wheels. A reinforcing plate n and a similar one m for the rear axle are provided. Apertured lugs are secured to the flanges g, h for the reception of the stanchions for the sides y or for other additions. Fig. 5 shows the metal floor z in one piece with side flanges g, h, reinforcing channels z<1>, and saddle piece z<2> for the socket piece p being provided together with transverse reinforcing plates n.
