Abstract

654,549. Pipe couplings. HARROP, E. A. Sept. 20, 1948, No. 24536. [Class 99(i)] [Also in Group XXV] The union nuts of pipe couplings are locked by wire twisted together to produce a chain-like form, Fig. 1, the width and distance apart of the twisted portions being varied according to the size of nut to be locked. The twisted parts may be soldered. The wire chain is wrapped round the nut with the corners of the nut projecting through the links, and the free ends are passed through the end link, drawn tight. and twisted together and to the ends of a reversely arranged adjacent chain or to a fixed anchorge as shown in Fig. 2.
