Class 20(ii) An angle section bar has lines of regularly spaced bolt holes extending longitudinally in its flanges, each line consisting of alternate round and transversely elongated holes 12, 13, Fig. 1, respectively of equal size. Each hole 13 is of width equal to the diameter of a hole 12 and of length equal to the diameter of a hole 12 plus an amount equal to twice the thickness of a a flange, all the holes being transversely aligned and the holes 13 in one line being transversely aligned with holes 12 in an adjacent line. One flange 10 may be twice the width of the other 11. Two bars may be joined together directly at right angles or nested one inside the other or two bars may be joined with their ends abutting by means of a short third bar acting as a splice plate. Two bars may also be joined in various angular dispositions by means of a quadrant gusset plate C, Fig. 6, provided with bolt holes 16. Specification 620,696 is referred to.
