Abstract

654,525. Plate heat-exchangers. CREAMERY PACKAGE MFG. CO., Ltd., and CLARK, R. T. June 30, 1948, No. 17516. [Class 64(iii)] A plate heat exchanger comprising a plurality of spaced. parallel, substantially flat plates is characterized in that adjacent plates A, B are formed with registering, substantially V-shaped cross-sectional corrugations A<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>1</SP>, between which is disposed a deformable gasket C having outwardly directed ends C<SP>1</SP> lying between the flat parts of the plates, the ends C<SP>1</SP> being thicker than the intermediate parts C<SP>2</SP> of the gasket lying between the corrugations. The ends C<SP>1</SP> of the gasket section may be concave to increase the sealing effect. A small clearance at D is provided between the gasket and the plate A to increase the resilience.
