Abstract

713,683. Plate heat-exchangers. CREAMERY PACKAGE MFG., CO., Ltd. Jan. 2, 1953 [Jan. 2, 1952], No. 109/52. Class 64(3) Relates to heat-exchangers comprising a bank of plates spaced apart by gaskets which extend around the peripheries of the plates and define between adjacent plates a space for one of the heat exchanging fluids. According to the invention the gasket comprises a frame 3 of rubber or plastic material with transversely corrugated strips 6 of metal (e.g. stainless steel) extending between two oppositely disposed side portions of the frame. Preferably the strips 6 are bonded at their ends to the frame. The crests of the corrugations in the strips 6 abut against adjacent plates of the assembly.
