Abstract
653,770. Batteries. CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO., Ltd. Sept. 17, 1948, No. 24419. [Class 53] A gas exit comprises two parts a, b, Figs. 4 and 5, which are secured together to form a single body having two internal chambers f, o, as shown in Fig. 2. The lower part b is provided with drainage openings' p for the return of liquid to the battery, and with side openings m which register with notches i in the depending portion j of the upper part a. The part j is also provided with long slots h which provide communication between the chambers o, f. Gas evolved from the battery enters the device through the lower opening q and passes through the openings m and notches i into the chamber o whence it passes through slots h into the chamber f which communicates with the atmosphere through openings g.
