[Class 53] A gas vent for an accumulator consists of two moulded parts a, g which are cemented together at the joint where the lower part g sockets into the upper part a. The part a is formed with two chambers d, e, the chamber d being open to the atmosphere through a passage b and communicating with the chamber e through a slot f which is partly closed by the part g. The lower end of the chamber e is open and communicates with the tubular part of the member g into which gas passes from the battery through openings h. Any liquid which passes into the device returns to the battery through the lower end i of the part g.
