Abstract
680,739. Batteries. ALKALINE BATTERIES, Ltd. July 20, 1951 [Aug. 10, 1950], No. 19889/50. Class 53. A four-cell accumulator has a casing a divided into four compartments by longitudinal and transverse partitions forming a cross as shown in sectional plan in Fig. 3. A single filling well f is provided at the junction of the partitions as shown in Fig. 1, the bottom of the well having four ducts g leading to the four compartments respectively. The well can be closed by a stopper o. The intercell connectors i lie in recesses in the top of the container which can be filled with sealing compound. A further recess m encloses the terminals k, cable seals and grips and fuses. The top of the container may be moulded with the sides and partitions, the base being a separate part cemented to the container. Specification 680,741 is referred to.
