Abstract
704,710. Batteries. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SANDERSON, R. W. W. Jan. 5, 1953 [Jan. 3, 1952], No. 290/52. Class 53 The negative electrode 4 of a primary cell is wrapped round the dolly 1, the whole being enclosed in a pliable or flexible bag 6. The electrode 4 mav consist of sheet zinc and the dolly may comprise a carbon electrode depolarizer, and electrolyte contained in a fabric bag. Paste electrolyte 8 between the dolly and zinc electrode may be cooked while in the outer bag 6 which may be made of polythene, polyvinyl chloride or rubber and may be closed by a rubber band 7. A conductor 5 soldered to the electrode 4 forms the negative terminal. The complete cell may be enclosed in a cardboard carton the top of which is filled with bitumen.
