652,646. Tractor-trailer couplings. FERGUSON, Inc., H. Feb. 23, 1948, No. 5233. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1947. [Class 103(v)] A hitch for a tractor 11 having draught link means 16 trailingly pivoted at 16A on the rear end portion thereof and having a power lift mechanism 18, 19 for elevating the same comprises in combination, a coupling device 10 mounted on the draught link means and having an upwardly extending finger portion 22 for hooking up. into the eye 14 on the draught tongue of a coupled implement, said finger portion being so arranged with respect to the link means that elevation of the draught link means to its extreme upward position causes said finger portion to engage and lift the eye and to rock and project forwardly in order to prevent the implement draught tongue from being uncoupled from said hook by purely upward movement thereof. The drawbar is of downwardly projecting V-form with the hook 20 mounted at the junction of its two limbs 21 each of,which carries a C-shaped foot 24 engaging the inner surface and upper and lower edges of a link 16. The draught force is transmitted from the links 16 to the members 21 by struts 25 the rear ends of which are connected to the links 16 by removable pins 26.
