Abstract

652,451. X-ray apparatus. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. July 14, 1948, No. 18919. Convention date, Aug. 28, 1947. [Class 98 (i)] [Also in Group XL (a)] X-ray apparatus comprises a source of X-rays 1 forming an image of an object 2 on a fluorescent screen 3. By means of an image intensifier 4 (see Group XL (a)), a brighter but smaller image is formed on a further fluorescent screen 9 and is viewed by an optical system shown diagrammatically by the lens 19. A hemispherical lens 23 may be arranged adjacent the screen 9 to reduce halation and increase optical efficiency.
