Abstract

752,283. Cathode-ray tubes. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. June 29, 1954 [July 10, 1953], No. 18969/54. Class 39 (1). A fluorescent screen for use with photoelectric material in an X-ray image tube consists of a glass plate 1 with square apertures 3 closed at one end by a glass septum 11 and containing the fluorescent material 6, a transparent metal layer 5 and a metal layer 7. The glass septum 11 may be integral with the glass plate 1. The layer 7 may be an aluminium foil. The sides of the apertures may be lined with aluminium 4. A glass layer may intervene between the plate 1 and the metal layer 7.
