Abstract

650,270. Magnetic induction accelerators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., MILNER, C. J., and WILKINSON, K. J. R. Feb. 24, 1948, No. 5482. Addition to 624,850. [Class 39 (i)] In the magnetic induction accelerator of the parent Specification in which the accelerating flux and the guiding flux are produced by two concentric windings which lie radially on either side of the electron orbit, the two windings are connected in parallel with a source of alternating voltage, and an adjustable auxiliary voltage of value of the order of <SP>1</SP>/N times that of the source, and in phase or phase opposition with the alternating voltage is applied in series with the winding having the greater number (N) of turns, to adjust the radius of the electron orbit.
