Abstract

649,059. Radio receiving apparatus. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 23, 1948, No. 16807. [Class 40 (v)] A shield or screen for a thermionic valve or the like is provided with an internal spring and is removably held in position on the chassis by means of elements which engage in the manner of a bayonet joint with co-operating elements on the chassis integral with and formed from the material of the chassis. As shown, the tubular screen 6 is provided with outwardly-directed lugs 7 at diametrically opposite points which co-operate with the undercut portion of L-shaped arms 4, to form a bayonet joint, the arms 4 being pressed up from the chassis at right-angles to the plane of the chassis. A spring 8 engaging the valve retains the screen in position.
