648,179. Bearings. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN. Dec. 10, 1948, Nos. 32062 and 32063. Convention dates, May 10 and Oct. 29. [Class 12 (i)] In a roller bearing of the type having two rows of rollers 3a, 3b with convexly curved rolling surfaces cooperating with an outer ring 1 having a concave spherical raceway 2 common to both of the rows of rollers, an inner ring 4 with two races 5a, 5b having concavely curved profiles, and a guide ring 7 disposed between the races, the guide ring 7 is axially displaceable and radially centred on a cylindrical surface 6 on the inner ring 4 between the raceways, so as to permit axial displacement of the rollers and maintain them in alignment. The profiles of the rollers and of the races are arcs of circles, and the radii of the profiles of the races may be greater than that of the rollers. The rollers may be symmetrical or unsymmetrical about their central planes and 'contact the races at or near their greatest diameters. Cages 8a, 8b may be provided.
