648,086. Vehicle wheels. SANKEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and SANKEY, G. B. Nov. 19, 1948, No. 30058. [Class 144 (i)] - A disc wheel of the type in which the outer periphery of the disc is secured to, or formed integral with a rim (or the main part of the rim), and the centre-portion of the disc is adapted to be secured to an inner hub-member or an associated brake-drum by means of threaded studs and nuts, the centre-portion of the disc 1 is provided with pressed-out portions 11 at the locations of the stud-holes 6 to provide flat co-planar seating-surfaces C to bear against the hub-flange or brake-drum. The pressedout portions 11 may extend from the centre to the rim-seating flange 2 of the disc, which may have lightening holes 5. As shown, the flange 2 of the disc is riveted to a rim 7 having a detachable side-flange 10 secured by a locking- ring 9.
