[Class 60] A self-contained sand or shot blast plant is enclosed in a housing 1 the upper half of which is occupied by the blast cabinet 2 and an arrestor space 3 containing a number of filter frames connected to an exhaust ventilator 5 in the lower half of the housing; the cabinet 2 and arrestor space 3 are separated by a well 8 which permits dust-laden air to pass but arrests the sand or shot ,and the outer well of the cabinet 2 opposite the well 8 has air inlets 10, which may be provided with a baffle plate 11. The well 8 may consist of two rows of vertically placed overlapping angle irons. The bottom of the cabinet 2 consists of a grating 12 through which the used sand or shot falls on to a trough 13 leading to the sand-blast apparatus (not shown) disposed in the space 14. Fitted to the well 8 at the side of the arrestor space 3 is a conductor plate 15 which leads into the trough 13 any sand or shot which passes the well 8. Dust passes from the arrestor 13 through funnel 7 into receptacle 6.
