Abstract
647,737. Roofing construction. PLUMMER, H. L., and IRWIN, D. L. Nov. 17, 1947, No. 30432. [Class 20(iv)] A roof construction comprises panels 1 with flat upper surfaces having vertical flanges 2 and outturned lips 3 for the suspension of a ceiling 4 of pre-fabricated material. The heads of the bolts 5 are provided with washers 7 of domed form to engage the inner face of the ceiling, the shanks passing through plates 6 to which they are secured by nuts 8 on either side of the plates which may be provided with upturned ends 9. To obtain a level surface, filling pieces 11 may be inserted in the channels between the panels 1. Sheets of insulating material and a coating of bituminous composition may be applied to the outer surfaces of the panels and filling pieces. The ends of the panels and filling pieces are shaped to overlap one another.
