Abstract
645,540. Tricycles. LINES BROS., Ltd., and LINES, W. July 5, 1949, No. 17767. [Class 136 (iii)] A chain-driven tricycle has an archshaped tubular member 4 which carries the back axle 12 and is flattened over a short length at each side to provide surfaces for the attachment of housings for ball-bearings 14, continues as a tube 18 below the flattened parts and has a foot plate 22 secured to its free lower ends. A flange 16 surrounds a central hole on each ball-bearing housing, passes through a hole in the flattened part 10 of the member 4 and is spun outwards to hold the housing in place. The ends of the tubes 18 pass into inclined holes 20 in the footplate 22, the holes being bounded by downwardly-pressed flanges 24 to which the tubes 18 are secured by brazing, welding or the like.
