Class 66] [Also in Group XXIX] An automatic non-return valve for a collapsable tube 9 comprises a thick rubber &c. disc 10 having mouth 17, the underside of the disc being recessed and thinned around the mouth to form a non-protruding lip which is deflected by pressure exerted to extrude the contents of the tube. The recess may taper towards the mouth. The disc may be domed and the mouth 17 may be a slit with a lip 19 on each side. The lower part 15 of the recess may be rectangular and the upper part 16 may be roof-shaped and radiused at 18 into a slot 17 as long as the ridge of the part 16. The centre 13 of the disc may be bulbous. The disc 10 may be seated on a rigid annulus 11, the hole 12 therein being large enough to avoid masking of the recess. The disc 10 may be clamped to the annulus 11 either by a separate ferrule (e.g. conical) engaging the body of the tube 9 or by turning the rim 9a of the tube over the periphery of the disc. According to the Provisional Specification, the disc 10 may be located in or on an annular part of the neck of the tube, the mouth of the valve may be annular and the annulus 11 may overlie the disc 10.
