Abstract

645,325. Vehicle lamps. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and STURGESS, T. W. Aug. 17, 1948, No. 21682. [Classes 75(iii) and 75(iv)] A vehicle electric lamp comprises a hollow rubber body a, a metal bulb holder d which fits within the body a and has an outwardly extending annular flange h abutting against a similar flange f on the body, the two flanges having holes for screws r securing the lamp to the vehicle q, and a removable front cover which is gripped by a lip g on the body flange f. The front cover consists of a glass k held by clips o in a metal bezel j and it is attached to the body by placing the bezel over a lip i on the flange h on the bulb holder and springing the rubber lip g over a ridge m on the bezel. The lip i may have a projecting part n for engagement with the bezel. In a modification the glass k is directly engaged by the rubber lip g and the rubber lip g is reinforced by a removable sheet metal ring.
