Abstract

644,271. Suspending curtains. HARRISON (BIRMINGHAM), Ltd., and ALLSO, F. O. Sept. 16, 1948, No. 24360. [Class 52 (v)] A bracket for supporting a curtain rail or a valance rail comprises an attachment portion 12 having an integral arm 14 terminating in a hook 15 which engages a rail flange 11 and a locking slide 16 with bent-up channel portions 9 for engaging the side of the bracket arm. The slide is formed with a slot 19 to receive a securing screw 18 and has a projection 20 with an arc shaped edge in contact with the shoulder of the screw head. As the screw 18 is tightened the slide 16 is forced into a gripping position. A projection 22 on the bracket arm engages in a slot 23 in the slide to form a stop. When the support is used for a valance rail the screw engaging the projection screws into a tapped hole in the bracket arm.
