[Class 3(ii)] A display stand has side cheeks bent and anchored either forwardly or rearwardly from a main panel 2 each cheek having an intermediate fold line 5 to allow the stand to collapse flat by outward displacement about such fold line 5 while the cheek remains anchored, each side cheek also having a transverse fold line 6 intersecting the upright fold line 5 and adapted, when erecting the stand, after bringing into planar relation the parts 1a, 1b of the cheeks on each side of the intermediate fold line 5 to cause or allow the parts of the cheeks above and below the transverse fold line 6 to assume relative angular positions rendering the upright fold line 5 inoperative and maintaining the cheek parts above and below the transverse fold line 6 in planar form to give rigidity. As shown in Fig. 1 a cardboard blank has cheeks formed by substantially vertical score lines or creases 3, 4, 5 on one side of the blank, each cheek having a transverse score line or crease 6 on the other side of the blank. Each cheek has a tab 10 and the main panel or body 2 of the stand has a bottom extension 7 hinged to it by a score line. A tongue 8 on the bottom 7 engages a slot 9 on the tab 10 to anchor the cheeks. In its collapsed state each .cheek is folded about the vertical score line 5 so that the part 1b lies behind the part 1a and the bottom 7 is folded with the tongue 8 engaging the slot 9. The stand is erected by inward pressure on the cheeks at both ends at the score line 5 and after the parts 1a, 1b reach a common plane the cheek snaps inwardly and bends about the transverse score line 6; this prevents the cheek folding about the score line 5 and holds it rigidly. In another construction, Fig. 7, for a stand having a platform 16, each cheek is formed by vertical score lines 13, 14 and has a transverse score line 15. Slots 18 in the cheeks engage lugs 17 on a base 16 to anchor the cheeks. The stand is collapsed by folding each cheek about the score line 14 so that part 11b of the cheek overlies part 11a which is then in the plane of the main panel or back 12. When erected the parts 11a, 11b are in a common plane at right angles to the back 12 and part 19 of the cheek is bent at right angles to the parts 11a, 11b about the score line 15 to keep the parts 11a, 11b in alignment.
