[Class 3 (ii).] In an advertising and display device comprising a body part which when erected for use presents an angular front and is constructed to fold flat, a part is connected by hinges to the top edges of the angular front and is itself hinged so as automatically to form a top platform when the body part is erected and to be capable of folding flat automatically when the body part is folded flat. As shown in Figs. 1, 2, 4 and 6, the body part 1 consists of a sheet of cardboard which is scored so that it can be bent to a V or rightangular shape having side portions 3, and the platform, which is integral therewith, comprises sections 4, 4a hinged at 5 to the portions 3, the section 4a overlapping the section 4 which is scored at 6. The sections are connected to each other between the hinge 6 and the hinge 5 of the section 4a so that when the portions 3 are brought together, the sections are turned upwards on the hinges 5, Fig. 6, and when the portions are disposed angularly as in Fig. 1, the platform straightens out horizontally. A display member 7 is hinged to the section 4a so as to stand across the angle formed by the portions 3 and to fold flat against the body part 1 when this is folded flat, Fig. 6. A member 8, hinged to the member 7, is slotted at 9 so as to engage over the sections 4, 4a, Fig. 4, to lock them together and thereby prevent the platform folding upwards and also holding the display member vertical. The body part 1 may be folded upon a single score but preferably it is scored so that the sides 3 fold on a single score 10 at the lower part of the body to form a corner 12 and on a triple score 11, 11a, 11b at the upper part to form a re-entrant angle 13. The upper part of the body 1 may represent cartons or the like. A modification, Figs. 8 and 12, comprises duplicate portions 3a, 23 and 3a, 22 each corresponding to the portions 3, 3, Fig. 1, and being hinged together by a portion 24. A display member 26 is secured to a part 27 and is provided with tabs 29 which engage in slots 28, 28a in the sections 4, 4a when the portions 22, 23 assume the desired angular position. In a further modification, Figs. 13 and 14, a parallelogram structure is provided comprising a front 30, connected by hinged sides 31 to the body parts 3, and a top 32 having a flap 33 which can be turned down and tucked in to maintain the structure in a projected position to represent cartons or the like. A similar structure 34 may be attached to or formed upon the display member 7a.
