643,406. Inspecting fabrics. BRETT, F. S. A. Feb. 23, 1948, No. 5258. [Class 42 (ii)] A cloth inspection machine comprises an inspection board a pivotally mounted upon the machine frame so that it can be placed in a horizontal position or inclined to the horizontal to one or other side, a power-driven roller f for drawing the cloth over the inspection board, and a second roller g spring loaded to bear on roller f and serving to guide the cloth leaving roller f so that it rough plaits. As shown, cloth is drawn from a batch g. Board a is mounted on brackets b which can pivot on frame c and are clamped by nuts r. By tilting the board to one side or the other, the cloth can be caused to travel either up or down the board. Roller f, which may be rubber-covered, is driven by a motor p which may be of a variable-speed type and may be foot controlled.
