Abstract
921,360. Finishing fabrics. JOHN DALGLISH & SONS Ltd. Feb. 27, 1961 [Nov. 27, 1959], No. 40393/59. Class 42 (2). In applying cloth to the pins of a pin stenter or tentering machine the margin of the cloth is supported at a position alongside and laterally spaced from the line of pins so that the cloth margin is held clear of the pin-plate as the cloth is pressed over the pins. Apparatus used comprises a horizontal plate 12 having a smooth horizontal upper surface 13 and adjustably mounted by vertical rods 15 on extension 17 of a portion 18 of the stenter. Mounted above the plate 12 for joint rotation are a circular brush 21 and a disc 22 the latter bearing on the surface 13. In operation the brush 21 presses cloth on to pins 10 the depth to which the cloth is pressed being controlled by the disc 22 contacting surface 13. The portion 18 is pivoted on the stenter frame 23 so that it can be swung from an operative position to an inoperative position by handle 24. As an alternative arrangement the brush and the disc may be arranged in tandem fashion.
