Abstract

642,201. Windscreen - cleaners. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. March 1, 1948, No. 6477. Convention date, March 5, 1947. [Class 138(i)] In a windshield washing system liquid is delivered to a spraying nozzle under pressure upon the operation of a control and means are provided for heating the liquid delivered, controlled by pressure responsive means, whereby the liquid is heated when the control is operated. On operation of a control 13, Fig. 1, liquid is delivered from a reservoir 8, by an engine suction operated pump 7, of the type described in Specification 467,950, through a pipe 6 to a nozzle 5. An electric heater 14, Fig. 2, in the delivery pipe 6 is energized by contacts 17<SP>1</SP> being bridged by a contact plate 18 on a piston 19 operated by liquid pressure, through ports 20, against the action of a spring 21. A manual switch 15 is also provided in the electrical circuit. In another embodiment the piston is operated by the engine suction instead of the pressure of the liquid delivered, and a thermostat is incorporated in the electrical circuit.
