Abstract

A device for use in administering gas to a patient comprises a pressure indicator connected between the source of gas and a restricted outlet leading to a mask or mouthpiece, the pressure indicator taking the form of a transparent or translucent tube dipping below the surface of a liquid contained in a vessel, closed except for its connection to the gas supply line. In acting as a manometer the device indicates the pressure adjacent to the outlet and thus gives a measure of the rate of flow of gas therethrough.
