Abstract

237,185. Davis, R. H. Feb. 27, 1925. Respirators.-Breathing-apparatus for supplying oxygen or air to airmen, and of the class described in Specification 131,371, comprises a hand device and an automatic barometric device for the control of the oxygen supply to the user and means whereby either device, can be rendered operative as desired. The oxygen from a cylinder connected to a nozzle d communicates with a pressure gauge b and with a reducing valve c, and thence passes through a pipe o to a control valve e. By turning the control valve the user may direct, the oxygen through a byepass m tothe flow-meter and thence to his face mask, or may divert the flow to a cylinder h<1> .containing a piston valve actuated by an aneroid barometer g. The movements of the barometer automatically regulate the flow through an outlet pipe leading to the flow-meter.
