Abstract
641,492. Cloches; composite bars. JEFFORD, J. A. W. Oct. 7, 1947, No. 26975. [Classes 20(i) and 20(ii)] A single or multiple barn or lean-to cloche has ridge, eaves or valley bars of a section consisting of a vertical web 13 spot-welded to a strip bent over to form two opposed angular flanges 14A branching from the sides of the web 13 at an intermediate point in its height, the flanges supporting glass roofing sheets and the bars being supported by posts 10, 11 provided at their upper ends with U-section lugs 17, 18 engaging the webs 13 or the strip bent over the webs 13. Roof ties 19, 20 overlie the roofing sheets and hook over the bars. The ends 23 of the ties 19 bear on the wall sheets 24 and hold them against the webs of the eaves bars, while the ends 20A of the ties 20 engage notches 15 in the flanges of the valley bars. Wall sheets at their butt junctions may be secured by means of metal clips 27, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown).
