Abstract

318,951. Robson, W. H., and Scott, R. W. June 13, 1928. Roofs.-Dismountable conical roofs for circular huts consist of rafters 7 connected to a cap 11 and supported on a wall directly or on carrier members, and stayed and strutted by horizontal members 19, 28. The cap consists of a plain or flanged ring 2, Fig. 5, bolted to a plate 1, the rafters 7 being hooked over the ring, or passed through holes 12, Fig. 6, and engaged with the ring by notches 17. The stays 19, Fig. 9, are bent at the ends and interlock together by slots 21, 23, and with the rafters by slots 26. Wire 28 is threaded through holes 27 in the rafters to form purlins, or bars may be passed through the holes 27 and be connected by hooks and eyes. The roof may be carried on slotted bars 29, Fig. 15, which bear on the walls. The covering may consist of metal sheets or straw and mud.
