Abstract

335,189. Dehn, F. B., (Taylor, H. S.). April 11, 1929. Roofs.-Conical roofs for huts having a mud or other desired wall formation are formed of triangular metal plates 4, Figs. 1 and 7, provided with upturned flanges 5 along the sides which are connected together by bolts and joint capping 15. The roof unit so formed may be secured to a wall plate 2 by brackets 16 formed with angled portions. An inner roof or ceiling 7 similar to the outer roof may be provided, and may consist of galvanized iron or asbestos suitably reinforced; the lower edges of the inner roof are secured to the wall plate 2, and the upper edges to a cowl or ventilator which may consist of a series of vertical or sloping bars 9, Fig. 3, and rings 8, 10, or a cylindrical member 19, Fig. 9. The lower and upper edges of the cowl 19 are bent as flanges and bolted to the inner roof, and the bars 9 are similarly extended and bent at the ends. An apertured ventilating collar 12 may be fitted above the cowl and carry a cap 14.
