393,771. Roofs ; girders. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.- (Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-N³rnberg Akt.- Ges.; Nuremberg, Germany.) July H, 1932, No. 19611. [Class 20 (iv).] Roofs are formed of bent sheet-metal girders laid side by side, each being open at the bottom and consisting of a table portion c, a web or webs b, and flanges a, d, all the angles being right-angles. The upper surface of the structure is continuous, and the girders are connected by screws or rivets passed through the flanges d and adjoining webs. The flanges a may be turned inwards or outwards. In Fig. 3, girders with two webs alternate with a flanged table portion. The upper surface may be provided with an insulating or other covering, for example asphalt, before or after erection, and a ceiling may be suspended from the lower flanges. Fig. 7 shows the girders supported at their ends by a principal rafter, the table portions being screwed or riveted to the flange of the rafter.
