A double-skinned metal roof comprises corrugated panels joined edgeto-edge to form a ceiling layer P 1 and a roof layer P 2 , which are spaced apart by trusses A, and boxed in at the sides and ends by vertical walls P 3 having margins P' 3 extending downwardly below the ceiling layer P, and supported directly on the building wall 12 (Fig. 16a, not and shown). The trusses A have omega-sectional ties 2, and angle-sectioned upper and lower chords, with both flanges of each chord perforated for the connection of the ties and of the ceiling and roof panels which are bolted together and via elongated holds, to the appropriate truss flanges, along their edges. The metal panels 1 (Fig. 3, not shown), forming the ceiling and roof layers, have large corrugations 4-4", each comprising minor corrugations, with troughs which are pointed in cross-section running between adjacent minor corrugations. The horizontal panels have their ends corrugated in plan, to fit into the vertical panels forming the walls P 3 . Plates 9 and 9' (Fig. 16, not shown), each with one corrugated, flanged, edge, and one simply flanged edge, are employed to support the margins P' 3 on the building wall.
