Abstract

641,176. Gear pumps. BREGUET, L. Aug. 25, 1947, No. 23474. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1946. Addition to 630,135, [Group XXXIII] [Class 110(ii)] A gear pump used in the pitchadjusting mechanism described in the parent Specification is provided with end chambers 12, 13 connected to the suction port 5, which collect oil leakages of the joints and bearings causing a circulation of lubricating oil and at the same time balancing end pressures on the gears. The driving gear 1 is integral with the shaft S and the gear 2 has a bronze bush 22 which runs loosely on a hollow shaft 21 provided with oil grooves supplied by ducts 25. Similar ducts lubricate the bearings for the gear 1. A stuffing-box 15 is provided. Segmental, radial-pressurebalancing grooves 18a, 24a are connected to the delivery and suction ports respectively. Oil trapped in by meshing teeth is passed through grooves 20 to the suction side.
