[Class 125(iii)] Prior to the application of a closure-lid to a container, such as a jar, a sealing- band is placed in position and held against the top of the lid by inwardly-projecting prongs punched out of the rim of the lid. The act of pressing the lid on to the jar may press the prongs back into the holes from which they were punched.
