Abstract

594,941. Stoppers for bottles &c. MAGNESEN, C. D. Feb. 25, 1944, No. 3539. [Class 125 (iii)] A stopper which may be applied and removed by hand as desired comprises a pair of telescopically slidable members 12, 14. The inner member 12 has a raised portion 36 upon which the member 14 slides and a number of fingers 28 adapted to engage under a shoulder on the bottle or other receptacle 44. The member 14 in its lower position engages protruding portions 30 of the fingers 28 and forces the fingers into engagement with the bottle. The raised, portion 36 is bulged near its top to prevent complete removal of the member 14 therefrom. A metal or other sealing member 10 may be placed upon the raised portion 36.
