Abstract
639,903. Mixing appliances. GALLONE, A. Jan. 24, 1948, No. 2222. [Class 86] An ice-cream mixer or the like comprises a container 10 mounted on a housing 11 and provided with a lid 10a and has two or more vertical stirrers 1, 2 of cage-like structure mounted to be easily removable. The drive is by a belt 17 from a motor 15 so that one stirrer at least rotates in the opposite direction to the others. The stirrers are mounted at the top by a bayonet socket type mounting 6 and at the bottom by a ball and socket co-acting with a stub shaft 20. A conical guiding member 21 is provided at the bottom of each stirrer so that it is easily guided into position. The container is aligned in the housing 11 by means of a cross-piece 14 which is curved to the contour of the container. The upper ends of the stirrer shafts are journalled in ball bearings 7 in a spacing spider 9 secured to the cross-piece 14 and to the container 10.
