Abstract

583,499. Mixing-machines; centrifugal machines. REAVELL, J. A. June 2, 1944, No. 10597. [Classes 23 and 86] The continuous mixing of two or more liquids or of one or more liquids with one or more solids is effected by feeding the components into an inner mixing zone within a tapered or conical chamber b to be mixed by a rotary vortex creating device e, and thereafter passing the mixture to an outer concentric chamber a to be mixed further by a vortex creating device f. The devices e, f are mounted on a vertical shaft g, driven by an electric motor h, and the mounting of the stirrer f permits adjustment 'of the distance between that device and the lower end of the chamber b. Finally the mixture overflows through an outlet m which may be provided with a regulating launder.
