Abstract

639,701. Hydraulic accumulators. MACTAGGART, SCOTT, & CO., Ltd., RUSSELL, R. C., and GUNNING, M. F. March 13, 1948, No. 7704. [Class 69 (ii)] An hydraulic accumulator in which the liquid therein is loaded by compressed air comprises a float f sliding in a central perforated guidetube b surmounting a discharge port c closed by a valve ring on the bottom of the float, and a tube j inside the float whereby any liquid therein is expelled by the pressure of the air inside the float during discharging of the accumulator; the upper end of the tube is protected by a cover k having openings k<SP>1</SP>. The accumulator is connected to an air bottle, and the float in its uppermost position closes a valve d to isolate the bottle.
