639,682. Electromagnetically-operated valves. HALL, Ltd., J. & E., and HALES, R. T. Nov. 7, 1947, No. 29700. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXXVII] An expansion valve for a compression refrigerating system comprises a pointed rod 5 normally held on a seating 3 by a spring 6 coiled round the valve rod, the upper end of which is secured to a disc-shaped armature 7 of weight not exceeding twice that of the valve, dished at 8 for reception of the end of the rod. A pot magnet 10 is arranged above a diaphragm 9 closing the upper part of the valve housing. The magnet is energized in accordance with the temperature as described in Specifications 639,683 and 639,710, [both in Group XXXVII]. , Specification 419,917, [Group XXXVII], also is referred to.
