Abstract

637,435. Discharging aerated liquids. DOLE VALVE CO. Feb. 19, 1946, No. 5141. Convention date, March 2, 1945. [Class 14(i)] [Also in Groups XVIII and XXIX] In an apparatus for dispensing mixed drinks of carbonated liquid and a flavouring syrup, (see Group XVIII), foaming is reduced by passing the carbonated liquid before discharge through a spiral capillary passage to reduce the velocity of flow. The liquid is fed to the discharge head of the apparatus by a pipe 19 from a constant rate of flow maintaining device, (not shown), and passes through a valve 58 into an annular chamber 59 from which it emerges by passing along the spiral capillary passage formed by a screw-thread on the outside of a member 64 fitting closely inside the bore of a surrounding cylindrical member 63. The issuing liquid is further restricted by means of a baffle plate 74 in the form of a screen before discharge through the nozzle 21.
