Abstract

1,106,862. Mixing and aerating liquids. McCANN'S ENGINEERING & MFG. CO. 12 April, 1965 [20 Oct., 1964], No. 15566/65. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F2] In a beverage dispenser syrup and carbonated water are mixed in a device comprising a chamber 74 having a syrup inlet 72, and an outlet 76 controlled by a thermally responsive bimetallic strip 78. Syrup passes from outlet 76 through annular passage 81 and nozzle 82 and mixes in a mixture discharge outlet (86 see Fig. 2 not shown) with carbonated water which enters through inlet 84. The bimetal strip varies the syrup flow through outlet 76 to compensate for differences in viscosity between syrup which has been retained at ambient temperature in the chamber 74 and that flowing in from the refrigerated syrup container. Syrup and carbonated water are supplied at the same pressure by using the gas in the carbonator (16) to pressurize the syrup container (36) (see Fig. 1, not shown).
