Abstract

A workable, white, jewellery alloy has the following composition: Au 37.5-75 per cent, Mn 0.5-10 per cent, Ag the remainder. The alloy may also contain one or more of the following elements: Cu up to 5 percent, Ni up to 10 per cent, Zn up to 10 per cent, Pd up to 5 per cent. The alloy may be made by melting together silver and gold and then adding manganese.
